Valentine's Day Brunch at Mondo
Susan Spicer's casual fine dining restauraunt, Mondo, is up there on my list of favorite brunches. Her dishes are unique and flavorful. With a menu that is constantly changing and only serving brunch on special holidays, each visit is sure to be a treat.
We started off our Valentine's Day brunch with libations and the Peppershooters. These peppadew peppers were stuffed with herbed goat cheese and wrapped in prosciutto. My tastebuds were absolutely delighted.
Following our appetizer, our entrees surely did not disappoint. Mondo's New Orleans Style BBQ Shrimp and Grits with white cheddar stone ground grits, smothered greens, and onion rings was flavorful and delicious and the Poached Eggs Benedict with latkes, short rib debris, haricot vert, and horseradish hollandaise was nothing short of perfect.
Just when I didn't think our meal couldn't get any better, we decided on a dessert... Affogato (rum ice cream with espresso caramel). Oh goodness, if I could have this every day, I would.
